AI for Preventing Misinformation Before It Spreads

Most misinformation doesn’t start with rumors - it starts with confusion.
So I use AI as a “confusion detector” before publishing anything.
I paste in an announcement and ask:
“What parts of this might residents misunderstand or misinterpret?”
“What questions will people ask?”
“What could be taken out of context?”
I also ask AI to flag:
- missing dates or times
- unclear terms
- vague phrasing
- policy explanations that need simplification
- areas that could trigger frustration
- places where assumptions are made.
This lets me fix problems before they turn into:
- rumors
- angry comments
- media confusion
- unnecessary drama
AI won’t stop misinformation. However, it helps me prevent the avoidable pieces.
